Happy...!!!

I have always believed that you really don't have to do a lot to make time with children feel like a party as seen here and here.

And I have seen first hand, children exclaim with utter glee over something little because it made the occasion feel special.  When saw this post from Jenny of Hank and Hut featured on Hello Bee I got a bit giddy myself. It is a Mini Party Tent for a Mini Celebration.

Life is all about the celebrations, is it not? What will you make into a party?

Fair Feathered Friend

I am brought many little treasures by my students. Beads, flowers and sometimes feathers. Feathers have a special meaning to children I think. They assume they are magical. The Native Americans believed feathers symbolize flight, speed, lightness, and ascension . All wonderful things to pretend as a soaring bird, perhaps. Here are some of
my feathery favorites for a magical fall.

Show and Tell

One of my all time favorite literature School Girls would have to be Lilly from
Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes.I will go as far to say the book has become a CLASSIC in its own right.  Lilly LOVES school, has quite the flair for the dramatic and
 a BIG imagination!
Here are some ideas to steal her cheeky look!
Western Boot
Glitter Pursette
If you have a little one that needs a little encouragement to begin school again, read this book. She learns "Today was a difficult day. Tomorrow will be better."
Which sometimes can really be true.

My Little Self

Every year at Back to School Time, my Five -Year Old Self picks what she would like to wear for the First Day of School. Here are my picks for a fabulous new Fall Season.
This dress.
Or this dress.
My 5 year old self always did have trouble picking.

Actually, my current age self would choose these as well if they came in my size! What would you pick? xoxo Queen Laura

One Sweet Day

With Back to School rapidly approaching, a sweet surprise for your little student
may be just the thing.
There is just about the cutest German School Tradition that would be quite easy to establish as your own tradition. Children entering kindergarten receive a schultuete.
It is a darling little cone filled with sweets. This DIY project comes from One Lovely Day. For a simpler idea, you could use a paper party hat and fill it with cute and clever school supplies instead of candy if you wish. Surely you could give to a child entering any grade on the
first day of school.
A sweet way to begin the school year, wouldn't you agree?

It's in the (glitter) Bag

I get asked about party favor ideas all the time. The guidelines I like to follow for something special for each guest attended are:
1. make it personal
2. and unique
3. and something that will get used

This little Glitter Gift Bag is just the thing. It is a simple DIY from
Hank and Hunt created at The Sweetest Occasion. Use your birthday girl's favorite color glitter and the bag is perfect for little trinkets and treasures long after the party is over.
What to put in it you ask? Well, how about the cutest little Twig Crayons you ever did see. Looks like a forest fairy made them herself!
Surely something memorable wouldn't you agree? XO Queen Laura

If the Crown Fits

I consider myself fairly lucky as I get to wear a crown every day to work. But most people have to wait until their birthdays. Well, these felt crowns by Chloe in Style are just too cute to wear once a year. They will personalize each crown with an age or if you do an initial or name it could be worn
for every birthday!

Really, I wouldn't be surprised if your Royal Subject doesn't ever want to take it off!
